If you saw the last guide on buying Qatar Avios cheap and missed the sale, do not worry. There is a second door to the exact same seat. Qatar's Qsuite, which a lot of people call the best business class in the world, can also be booked with JetBlue points, because JetBlue is a Qatar Airways partner. And right now JetBlue is running a sale on its own points. So that private suite is back in reach, for roughly the same discount, just through a different program.

JetBlue runs these sales a few times a year. If this one has ended, watch for the next one and come back to this guide.

What is going on with JetBlue points

JetBlue's points are called TrueBlue points. You can buy them straight from JetBlue, and a few times a year JetBlue puts them on sale with bonus points.

Right now you can pick them up for about 1.5 cents each. Here is the part that makes this work for us: JetBlue is a Qatar Airways partner, so you can use JetBlue points to book Qatar's Qsuite business class.

How the bonus works

The more points you buy, the bigger the bonus, up to 100,000 bonus points.

Buy 5,000 to 9,0005,000 bonus
Buy 10,000 to 19,00010,000 bonus
Buy 20,000 to 49,00020,000 bonus
Buy 50,000 to 99,00050,000 bonus
Buy 100,000 or more100,000 bonus
At the top tier that is a 100% bonus. For an 83,000-point Qsuite, buying the 100,000 tier gives you more than enough, with points to spare.

Is buying points worth it

Same rule as always. Buying points is usually not smart unless you have a specific flight in mind, because you are spending real money on points. But for a Qsuite seat, at these prices, the math is hard to argue with. And JetBlue has one more thing going for it. TrueBlue points never expire as long as your account stays open and in good standing. So if you buy them, there is no clock forcing you to use them by a certain date.

How to book a Qsuite for about 80% off

A Qatar Qsuite costs 83,000 JetBlue points one way. At about 1.5 cents a point, that is roughly $1,245 in points, plus the taxes on the award ticket, which are low.

Now the comparison. I found a Miami to Doha Qsuite seat selling for $6,108 in cash. That same seat books for 83,000 JetBlue points, around $1,245 worth. So you are paying close to 80% less for the exact same suite.

That is about 80% off for the same suite.

Cash fares and award taxes change by date, so your own numbers will vary. The points side stays far cheaper.

One note on the sale. The bonus comes in steps, so you cannot buy exactly 83,000. You would buy a round amount, like 100,000 points for about $1,500, and keep the roughly 17,000 left over for next time. Since the points never expire, that leftover just waits for you.

How to find and book it

Search on JetBlue, not Qatar Airways. You can easily find availability by using seats.aero explore version. Select JetBlue, then type Doha on the search bar.

Find the Qsuite award space first, before you spend a dollar on points. Once you can see your seat is there and bookable with JetBlue points, buy only what you need and book it. Buying points first and hoping the seat shows up later is how people get stuck with points they cannot use.

Bottom line

Missed the Qatar Avios sale? This is your second shot. Qatar's Qsuite is one of the best business class seats in the world, and you can book it with 83,000 JetBlue points one way. In JetBlue's current sale those points run about $1,245, against a $6,108 cash fare, so you are looking at roughly 80% off the same seat. Find the space first, buy only the points you need, and remember the points do not expire as long as your account stays open.
