How much I spent on 5-star hotels in Paris, traveling on points!

How much I spent on 5-star hotels in Paris, traveling on points!

My first time in Paris! Oh, what a lovely city! Every corner is magical, their croissants, their amazing jelly, the French wine! How not to fall in love with this blessed place! I was absolutely in love by minute one!

My husband and I were having a really good time, and didn't want to leave! We even started talking about moving there — and I would spot him looking at real estate prices every time we passed by a store advertising homes.

We visited Paris in July of 2023, and we had four nights there. I wanted to experience different neighborhoods of the city, so we booked two hotels in different locations.

Hyatt Madeleine — The First Stay

The first location we picked was Madeleine, close to the 8th arrondissement and a few steps away from Champs-Élysées. We stayed at Hyatt Madeleine, a 5-star boutique hotel, and it was simply incredible! They give you a welcome drink — a local French champagne (one of the best champagnes I've had in my life!) — and from 5–7pm they have a happy hour with free wine. Everything in your minibar is included in your stay. My husband and I looked at each other and said: "This just gets better and better!"

How Much Did We Actually Pay?

Would you believe me if I said zero dollars? Yes, $0. We used credit card points transferred 1:1 to Hyatt, and booked this dreamy stay for 30,000 points/night. At the time, one night was running around 650 Euros. That's 1,300 Euros saved for two nights — paid with 60,000 points.

Hotel Du Louvre — The Second Stay

Our second hotel was right next to the Louvre museum — Hotel Du Louvre, part of Hyatt's Unbound Collection. Priced at 800 Euros per night, we paid 35,000 points/night. This one didn't come with the welcome perks, but the location was unbeatable. We spent 70,000 points for two nights there.

The Grand Total

130,000 points for four nights in two 5-star Paris hotels. No cash, no stress — just strategy. That's the power of transferring your Chase Ultimate Rewards to Hyatt. Paris doesn't have to be a dream. With the right points, it's a plan.
